Springtime always makes me think of renewal.

renewalThe weather starts getting warmer. Trees and plants start to become green again, and flowers begin to bloom. Allergies get worse. I believe in self-renewal, and what better time to do it then when mother nature is going through it as well? The changing of the seasons is a great time to check-in and make adjustments. We should always strive to better than we were the day before.

Spring is a great time to look at your life and make some changes.

Shake off the winter blues. Spend some time enjoying the great outdoors. I find walking, running or hiking to be a great way to clear your mind of cobwebs. They also help to refocus your energy and reduce stress. Or maybe you want to try yoga or meditation. Why not take your practices outdoors? Maybe you have a sunny spot in your backyard to sit and meditate.

Now is also a great time to refresh your wardrobe. Go through your closet and get rid of those pieces you really don’t like or wear. You know the ones I am talking about. We all have them. Try everything on and toss things that don’t fit. No more holding on to those “skinny jeans” hoping one day you will fit into them again. Get rid of those “fat clothes” that you hold onto…. just in case. If you want to add a few pieces, be mindful. Try items on. Buy only those that fit well and you absolutely love. I wrote a piece for my personal site about just this. I try to do a big clean around the changing of the seasons, this was last fall.

Pick up a book. Take a class. Try something new.

There truly is no better time than now. Be sure to document what do. Start a journal so you can look back during a tough time and remember how you felt in this moment. Take some photos. Are you starting a new workout routine? What better way to track progress┬áthan with photos? Or take photos of your wardrobe and when you shop refer to them so you don’t buy duplicates or clashing items. Make a scrapbook. Did you go on a hiking adventure? Why not take photos and collect small items to put in a scrapbook?

Making positive changes, whether of the mind or body, help boost confidence. Confidence helps make you feel better on a daily basis. You are a badass. Start living like one and show others how awesome you are!

Start capturing a lifetime of changes. Document living.
