Fall Colors

Fall colors make it the best time of year.

Between the rich, warm leaves in reds, oranges, and yellows you get the crisp, cool air in the morning. It’s the perfect time to pull out the boots and sweaters to grab coffee with a friend. Or a trip to the pumpkin patch with the kiddos.

I grew up in Wisconsin and always looked forward to autumn. Labor day was always the unofficial start to fall. You could almost feel the change in the air. The nights became cooler and the days weren’t quite as warm. I love summer but every August I start looking forward to autumn. I wish it could be fall all year round. I love the weather, the colors, and the air.

It’s a magical time.

Now I live in Arizona and September isn’t much different from August. The temps don’t drop much. And the cacti don’t turn colors. But I don’t let that deter me! I pull out the boots and start wearing them with skirts and dresses. I can still celebrate fall in small ways. It’s also the start of race season so I know I will have lots of runs coming up. I love running and look forward to Turkey trots and other fall races!

Oh yes, Thanksgiving and Halloween make fall the best!

Halloween means jack-o-lanterns and cute kids in costumes. And Hocus Pocus will be on TV at least once. And there is always the clearance candy the day after. 😉 Of course, Thanksgiving is all about the food and family. (Now you know why I like running so much, all the foods!)

Where do you live and what do you look forward to most in fall?
