Memory Keeping: Goofy
Goofy. That’s a pretty good word to describe me. I bet most people have known me, presently and from my past, would agree that I can be pretty darn goofy. I may not come across as that right away because I am kind of shy and a total introvert but… once I feel comfortable around you I let my freak flag fly.
So to speak.
I was flipping through my photo album, see a picture of it here, to find a new picture to share with you this month and I saw this one. Something about it screamed, SHARE ME! I don’t know, maybe I like to share embarrassing, silly photos of myself.
I am in high school in this photo, around 15 or 16. And to show you I’ve always been an old lady at heart… that chair and afghan combo has always been a favorite of mine. Like I wanted to take it with me when I moved out. Alas, I did not but I still love it. The colors. The stripes. The velvet material. I mean, it was soo bad it’s good.
You may notice I am also voguing. I still vogue and strike a pose. In fact, I did it just last week. I’m pretty sure that’s not cool anymore (I think the cool “new” dance is flossing still). Speaking of dance, see the tape on my fingers? Yup, that was from dance. We were running through our dance, if I remember right it was to I will survive, and we had this move where we go from standing to lying and slide our arm out. Well, I was not spatially aware and was a bit to close tot he wall. When I slide my arm out my fingers went into the wallboard. Oops. But, I finished the dance because that’s what you do.
So there are two fun little stories from one photo!
The power of photographs is they can tell so many stories, even just a quick snapshot.
