Hoodies. Hot chocolate. Leaves falling from the trees. These are a few of my favorite things.
Ok, bad jokes/song rewrites aside, I love fall. It has always been my favorite season. I love the cooler temperatures and crisp air. The feeling of being cuddling into a big cozy sweatshirt and seeing your breath when you walk outside. What could be better?
Like spring, fall feels like time to hit refresh.
You can always find something to change, to update, to restart. Now is as good of time as January 1st, or when the spring flowers bloom. Maybe instead of starting something new, why not drop an unpleasant habit like the tree sheds its leaves? Or get rid of the junk that’s been sitting around your house since you did the big spring clean. It doesn’t have to be anything big or dramatic. Tiny changes add up.
Is it time to change your fitness routine or diet?
For myself, I know I need to get back on the fitness track and drop the poor diet. I won’t reach my goals if I’m eating chocolate every day. I’m ready to drop my excuses and get to work. I think we can all work to better our fitness and health. Now might be the time to start that new workout or order that bike that’s been on your wishlist for years.
Maybe you want to change your home a bit.
We never really do much after we first decorate our homes, do we? I know I’ve had the same decor for years and I always think I should add or update but never do. Maybe you still have the posters from your college years. Look around your home, take an inventory of what you have, and then purge items you are no longer in love with. You want to make room for when you find new pieces that you absolutely love!
Fall is the perfect time to fall into something new.
Don’t wait to get started on changes. Start now instead of waiting. There’s no reason you can’t start on a Tuesday in August. What do you want to shed this fall?
